Every key is a single point of total failure. Citadel is designed so that no single key reconstructs your data.

What does keyless data security mean?

Protection that does not depend on a secret key remaining secret. Without a master key, there is no single object whose theft exposes everything.

How can data be protected without a key?

By changing what is stored. Citadel reduces a file, separates it into fragments with no independent meaning, and distributes them across separate environments.

Who can restore a file?

Only your authenticated identity, through Citadel, with the fragments reassembled and verified byte for byte.

Key management is the quiet risk.

Key custody, rotation, escrow, backup and revocation consume enormous effort, and a single mistake in any of them undoes the protection entirely.

Removing the master key removes an entire class of operational risk along with it.

Keyless is not access-free.

Keyless describes how the data is protected, not how you get in. Access still requires authentication, and we strongly recommend a private code alongside your password.

The point is that the two are decoupled: compromising an account does not hand over a key that unlocks everything, everywhere, forever.

Questions people ask

What if I lose my device?
Account recovery follows your authentication setup. No recovery path hands anybody a key to your data, because none exists.
Can Secured2 read my files?
No storage location holds a whole, readable file, and Citadel reassembles only for your authenticated account.
Is keyless the same as zero-knowledge?
No. Zero-knowledge keeps the key with you. Keyless removes the dependency on a key altogether.
